My Morning Routine for Productivity

Productivity is my middle name – thanks to years and years of meticulous practice. After studying countless girl bosses morning routines, I have finally hand crafted my own that works for me. This morning routine in particular is for summer. I work a full time internship (Mon – Fri 8am – 4:30pm) and I go to bed between the hour of 9:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., depending on my social calendar and what work needs to be done for Inspirational Nectar. Here is a peek inside of my typical morning these days!

5:55 a.m. My first alarm goes off.

6:05 a.m. I actually get out of bed, shuffle into the bathroom, wash my face using Lush’s Herbalism face scrub, brush my teeth and moisturize my face.

6:10 a.m. Pour my first cup of creativity fuel (coffee) for the day.

6:15 a.m. Take out our golden retriever puppy, Charlie.

6:30 a.m. Do my makeup, using Bare Minerals concealer, the original Naked Palette and Maybelline Voluminous Mascara.

6:45 a.m. Do my hair – either in a middle part down naturally, a half up half down or a high ponytail.

6:55 a.m. Begin making my everyday breakfast: four eggs made into an omelet with 1-2 slices of turkey, two slices of whole wheat toast with avocado, and four strawberries.

7:15 a.m. Clean up my breakfast and pack the essentials into my work bag: my DSLR camera, my Plum Paper agenda, two energy bars, some breath mints and an ice cold bottle of water.

7:30 a.m. Change into my work outfit for the day.

7:40 a.m. Let the dog out one last time before heading off to work.

8:00 a.m. The work day begins!

I have a challenge for each and every one of you. Beginning this Monday, I want you to set your alarm 5 minutes earlier than usual. So if you usually wake up at 10:30 a.m., wake up at 10:25 a.m. Then Tuesday, 10:20 a.m. Wednesday 10:15 a.m. Thursday 10:10 a.m. Friday 10:05 a.m. Do something productive with these extra minutes. Comment down below something you do each morning to feel productive or to set yourself up for a productive day.
